MTN launches customer service week

TELECOMMUNICATIONS giant, MTN, has launched its customer service week to show appreciation to its customers for their contribution to the growth of the company.
The occasion, which has been instituted as an annual event, is also used to highlight the importance of customer service to the company, as well as boosting morale, motivation and team work among the MTN customer care team.
This year’s celebration is on the theme: “A Tradition of Service: Our Customers, Our Pride”.
Launching the week in Accra, a Senior Clients Relations Manager of MTN, Mrs Mona Ayertey Anum, announced that among the activities lined up for the week were a donation to the Austism Centre at Kokomlemle, customer care education on SIM registration and mobile money registration at the central business district of Accra and a thanksgiving service on Sunday.
She said the climax of the event would be a ceremony of customer care staff awards during which customer care staff who had demonstrated outstanding performance with professionalism would be acknowledged.
She explained that the week was in recognition of the belief that customers were at the centre of the company’s success story, hence the expression of commitment for making it the leading telecommunications company in Ghana.
Mrs Anum noted that since its entry into the market in 2007, the company had adopted strategies to satisfy the needs of its customers and devoted time to ensuring that subscribers were given the best of care.
In a keynote address, a Senior Manager in charge of Customer Care, Mr Lawrence Akosen, who deputised for Mrs Jemima Kotei Walsh, Clients Relations Executive of the company, said MTN in the coming year would use the customer service week to showcase the practical application of MTN values of leadership, building strong relationships, creativity and innovation in customer care.
“As we celebrate our customers during the week, we wish to assure you that MTN recognises you as very critical stakeholders in all our activities,” he said.
